Signwriter

These number plates were made in France for Franco-file more than 20 years ago, replicating a surviving set we had found. The digits may originally have been stencilled with the border line hand-drawn by a sign writer.

The plates are vitreous enamelled, the highest grade of enamelling. Its components are pigment and molten glass fired onto steel at 750 deg. C. The deep blue plates with numerals in white curve in the centre and measure 14 x 18cm (51/2 x 7in.).

These signs are no longer made so our remaining stock is likely to be the last chance to acquire one. We hope we will still have the number you require in stock. If not, plates using the same digits and border, and fired to the same standard, can be ordered on a flat plate.
